Wanting to drain and change Transfer case fluid. Does it take the transdyne, gear oil, motor oil? Going to switch to a synthetic. Leaning towards Mobil 1. Run it in all other vehicles, just believe in it. Give me your thoughts. How much does it hold?

Jeff

the stock fluid is ATF I believe dex 3 but most are changing to a 5w-30 oil because of somethign put out a few years ago about the ATF evaporating and since alot of people dont regularly change these fluids or check the levels the T cases were basically running dry and having catastrophic failures. I have had 5w-30 in my T case for a good 40K miles now and no problems.

i still run ATF in mine but i only put 10 miles on my truck this year.

ATF it holds between one and two quarts. 5W30 youll need 3.
