tranny help please !

i have an motorcoach i just got. it has the chevy drivetrain 4l80e tranny that has 1 2 3 and od but nothing in reverse ! i am like a big dummy on trannies but am to broke to go to a shop can anyone please help ? sometimes it will even take off in rev and neutral

when mine did that it was completely toast... every gear when "forward" and no nuetral or reverse

Most likely the reverse input piston is cracked, it's unfortunately a fairly common problem with the 4L80E to get pressure spikes in reverse which can crack the piston.

how easy is it to fix the reverse input piston?

slould the piston hooked to the shift arm be really loose ?
