I'm working on a 04 lb7 Duramax the wiring is hacked to pieces can anyone tell me what I need to do to build a stand alone out of this factory harness

Ive built a few over the years. VERY time consuming. But basically you need to print off the wiring diagrams and determine which wires are absolutely necessary. Then remove the ones that aren't. I know that's a vague answer. But it would take me all day to go through the diagrams and write up a how to.
