I would recommend this cover. I had it on my old gas truck ('04 Silverado 6.0L EC/LB), and really liked it. Water tight, never had a problem with it. Like that the bars that run across the bed sit and roll up on the rails that sit inside the bedrails. I have thought about getting it for this truck. Need to find out if they make a model of it that fit behind the tool box I have in my bed, otherwise I will get the full bed model and get the in bed toolbox that sits under the bedrails.

i have a truxport truxedo basically the same thing just cheaper and I think its great

My dad has the extang tri-fold. Pretty nice but it can leak a small amount of water on the sides because it doesn't clamp the rail system down....it all folds up together. It's nice because you can have the whole thing completely off in under 5 minutes. It's just a couple wing nuts. http://extang.com/docs/solidfold.html

Thanks. Does it leak very much?? Thinking more for putting groceries in the back, how much water during rain, and snow storms??

It leaks very minor amounts. usually just ends up on the wheel wells. He just got it a couple months ago. We went to florida and back with it through the rain and had luggage and other stuff with the bed full and nothing was damaged. Like I said...it's pretty minor. He had an Avalanche before and the factory covers for those are really nice. They don't leak at all. He wanted something similar to that and is pretty happy with it. It looks nice too. He also got a tailgate lock for $30. You cannot open it without opening the tailgate so everything can be secured. The tailgate lock was made by Bully. There are other more expensive ones out there...this one looks near factory and easy to install. http://www.wheelskin.com/lh003.html

There is also another cover (the original folding cover) "Fold-a-cover" made by Advance. It's another option but is a 4 fold instead of 3. You can open and lock it from the outside without opening the tailgate which is kind of nice but when you open the cover you don't have quite the full bed width as the rail system stays clamped to the bed. It also takes a little bit longer to assemble/disassemble and not quite as good looking as the extang.

Are the hard folding covers more money?? Budget is for $500 or less, so I need to stay under that. I have never been a fan of those hard 1 piece fiber glass covers. A 3 piece is great for shopping, and being more useful, it can be folded to the from to make room for things that may stick out above the box.

The truck also has the factory under the rail liner, with the caps that protect the top of the box sides, will it work with these??
 
The rail caps shouldn't be a problem unless they are rippled a lot...it might not seal as well. My dad had a regular soft tonneau cover and poked a ole in it.....no poking holes with the hard covers. I think his was around $700 but not sure. You can also load stuff on top of them if you find a way to strap it down. Extang claims they have driven a 4 wheeler on top of it before and it held the weight. I agree with you on the fiberglass ones...not a fan of those either.
