synthetic oil

Search around for use. Also include searches in the 6.5 section as the motors are very similar.

Using synthetic is much like philosophy. Some are followers, some are not.

If the goal is extending the drain interval, only do so when getting oil analysis at *least* every normal change interval (per dyno use). Also, continue to change the filter at the 'normal' dyno drain interval.

If you do decide synthetic, I would not pay extra for 'extended drain interval' blends as the 6.2 will most likely not let the oil go past 5K; 10K if you are lucky.

Thanks Jay I am not a big fan of switching oils anyway. I hate to try this with bad results and have to switch back. I was thinking maybe a little easier to start in the winter

I use Amsoil in everything. I've had good longevity with all my engines so I stick with it. I use the Amsoil 5W30 heavy duty diesel oil year round in all the 6.5's

The recommended oil in everything else.

I've never sent in an oil sample that came back bad
