Ok, so my 86 CUCV does not have a starter bracket installed. The starter has been switched over to a 12V instead of the original 24V. There is a bracket bolted to the block but, not the starter. I am thinking it may have been for the 24V starter. Are the brackets different? Does anyone know the thread size for the nuts that go on the starter that holds the bracket in place? Any and all comments welcome.

the are 2 different bracket that I know of. the older 27mt( direct drive) or the 28mt(gear reduction). the older style bracket is longer than the new one. the technical library has both set of numbers. I can't tell ya which one is which.

I just found this posted somewhere.
GM#14028931 *FOR DIRECT DRIVE STARTER
GM#23502557 90-92 6.2L Diesels, 92-02 6.5L Diesels *FOR GEAR REDUCTION STARTER
