Speedo not working

[OBS 94’ Z]

Have a 1994 Chevy Silverado. All other gauges are working except for the speedometer and odometer. I started by checking the VSSB behind the glove box. And checked the ground on the drivers side near the parking brake release.

I just recently checked the the male end of the connection going to the speed sensor on the trans with a test light and had nothing. However, when I hit a hard bump or go through some water it starts working for a minute then stays at zero the rest of the time. Any help or advice on where else to look would be greatly appreciated!!!

Sure sound like a bad ground or wire or connection. Get a FSM and check what wires go where and check them out.

I've got nothing for you, but my wife said the speedo wasn't working for me either.

The Speedo tan worked wonderfully on my wife when we were dating. She viewed as a guide to action.
