sm-465 and th-400

(the jeff) hi guys i was wondering if the adapter ring for the transfer case on a sm-465 is the same one used on a th-400? can the ring be used on both, or are the rings tranny specific?

I don't believe so. Had to replace some of those parts on my '84 once and it had to be tranny specific.
