Shock Suggestions

Need to get both front and rear shocks for the '93 1 ton dump project. What was on the rig appears to be original.

Don't need anything fancy, just something to work as designed for the truck's use. All suggestions welcome

I installed Ranchos on my truck.
Due to having the torsion bars jacked up had to go with 4” over on the fronts.
Been several 10s of thousands of miles and they seem to be holding just fine.
On the 1988 Buick I bought munroes for it, cheaped out.
Right away I knew I had made a mistake.
I dont remember the warranty period, seemed life, I took them Munroes back to Oriellies and exchanged them for the high dollar units.
They been working great for 10s of thousands of miles too.
Thats all I knows about dat.

So what were the high dollar units?
I've never been good at choosing shocks. One brand that a lot of people raved about faired very poorly on my vehicles. I remember posting about that someplace.

Seems the main difference in performance/ price is whether the shock is "gas charged monotube" or not. Non- charged AC Delco heavy duty on RA are around $45 a piece, while the Ranchos or AC Delco monotube units are between $57- $64 a piece

So in anyone's experience is the extra price/ monotube feature worth it?

Bilstein looks to be the most expensive of the bunch at close to $100/ each

How did they fail?

leaked very quickly and were too soft. To get the warranty I had to pay return shipping which meant basically there wasn't one for me
