Hey guys, I'm on vacation with my dad in his 04 lly and as we were pulling in to stop for the night, got the "shift range inhibited". Truck will shift to reverse normally but any forward gear, it'll roll up a few feet and disengage. Maybe the tcc opening up? We got a new nsbu switch in it saturday but no change. Anyway, theres a small gm dealer here and we're getting it to them tomorrow morning. Oh, no dtc's or anything. Just the shift range inhibited. Any ideas?

Need to get it on a GOOD scanner that is capable of reading the TCM. The GM TECH 2 will read the TCM where most scanners will not talk to it. Sounds like you may be low on fluid, or the pressure switch manifold could have failed, but without codes it is tough to tell.

Trans was totally shot, the trans shop said it looked like the torque converter came apart. And then everything else. Back on the road tomorrow at noon (hopefully, they've delayed it once already  )
