I have been trying to find the reverse lights wire that runs down the frame rail on my 1993. Does anybody know which wire it is or should be. The book I have states it should be green but, the only green wire under there goes to the right side blinker/brake lights.

Thanks

Trace it back via the tail light

I have attempted that and had no luck since the only wire that was hot when the reverse lights were on only had 0.02 volts. Is that normal? I figure it should have at least 12 volts.

That why I am asking for a wire diagram.

Something just does not seem right.

You wouldn't have any voltage if the backup light switch was shot. That's usually the case for non working BU lights. .02v is the same as zero on a 12v circuit like this. You may have already found the wire. Just need to check it for continuity at the switch and test across the switch.

OK! Thanks :thumbsup:

My entire system works fine, I am trying to get everything wired up for the trailer wires. I will post what I am doing when I get it all done.

Maybe I should just wire it up from the switch.

These are 6 wires I have on the frame rail going from the front to the rear about 12 inches behind the lift pump;

Light Green = right turn
Yellow = left turn
Brown = tail/marker
purple = ?
Dark Green = ?
Black with White stripe = ?

I would like to know what the last three color wires are for. I do know the purple wire has 6.21 volts when the key is on.

Left tail light wires are;

Brown = should be the tail/marker
Light Green = right turn
Yellow = left turn
Black = ? (I think it is the reverse light)

Does anybody have a wire diagram that is worth a crap?

Sometimes the obvious is right at the tip of your nose.

I mixed up the two green wires. The light green is the reverse lights and the dark green is the right turn. I did find out the purple wire goes to the sending unit at the tank. I still have no idea what the black with white stripe is for. I will save that for another day.

Hope this helps out somebody else one day! :thumbsup:

All this jacking around with my reverse lights know, I have the drivers side out.

The bulb is good and working.

The plug has power when it is in reverse.

I think the bulb mounting plate went out.

Always something! :thumbsup:
