Scraper, Scotch bright pad, some brake kleen, the right stuff and not silicone, crown royal... etc....

Is the HO pump the same as the balanced flow?

No. There is a difference. I would suggest buying the 2000 year water pump.

All of the spin on waterpumps from GEP are balanced flow also.
I have been told by some people there were unbalanced spin on style waterpumps, but all I have checked were balanced.
The old 4 bolt are all unbalanced.
