Likely the easiest is to remove the rear drive shaft and the shaft to the front diff. if it is 4x4. 6 bolts on the lower Bell housing as well as the brace between the passenger engine mount and that lower bell housing have to be removed. 6 bolts have to be removed from the flex plate (auto trans) and torque converter. Slide the trans. back, then remove 6 bolts from the flex pate to the crankshaft. Then remove the flex plate.
I have never had to go beyond this, as the rest was a complete rebuild, I suspect a screw would have to be inserted into the seal so it could be pulled out. There is a special install tool recommended for the seal which I have never used either.
