I hear a grinding noise when slowing down...sounds like my brakes. I had all my wheels/tires off when doing a tire rotation and didn't see anything wrong with my pads or rotors. My passenger side rear wheel has a gold dust stuck hard to it. What is it from?

sure it isnt a rotor?? Had the enitre side of my red truck turn gold/rust color when my front one got ate up on the inside

did you check both sides? Outside pad may be fine while inside pad is gone.

Could also have a rock stuck in there somewhere

squealer is usually only on the outside pad. When putting the new parts on make sure both pads can slide freely along their guides. I had to do some grinding on my pad tabs to get mine to work when I replaced my back brakes. Also make sure you have caliper grease on the sliding bolts and the pad tabs. If you had one pad good and one gone that indicates there was some binding going on.
