I have a 92 Chev c1500 454ss with a 4l80e. When cold transmission shifts properly. When warm or hot left for 30 minutes to an hour or so transmission will not shift to second gear till engine gets to high rpm

Checked for codes? I know the tps can cause alot of issues on the early tbi units. It could also be an issue with the trans fluid temp sensor. No way of knowing without getting a scanner on it.
