D2 Cat, about WAP, it is not a complain, it is a fact. The history goes back 2 to 3 years ago when most of us were in DP forum. A lot of people started complaining about hard starting especially most of the member from north of the border and northern US. After so many complains, turns out everybody was using WAP from different sources (Kennedy, SSD, etc.). Earlier, WAP was the recommended one before even 60G and Bosch was in the picture. IIRC, Kennedy was in that thread assuring us that it will get fixed. He even get somebody from WAP to comment on the thread. The WAP person even admitted that they have a lot of failure with the 6.5 GP. Unfortunately, we never got a confirmation of the problem being fixed by mfg and the complaints kept coming in. We found out from Heath Diesel that Bosch is probably the best for 6.5 right now. So most people, including myself, are using Bosch right now. I bought Bosch when it was >$10 a piece and it was worth then and it was worth now with it only $8 a piece.
So in conclusion, WAP may be fine for other diesel but this forum will not recommend it. If you want to try to put it in 6.5, go try it at your own expense. If you don't trust me, you can still search it there since I know you are a member there also.
One thing you have to learn about 6.5 Diesel is that it starts to be in what we called "sunset" years so it is getting more and more difficult for us to find a good supplier of parts. In the grand scheme of things, WAP probably does not want to spend the resources to fix it. I think Kennedy and SSD has probably stopped selling WAP stuff also. AK still complains about it. Heck, I know Kennedy is selling more D-max parts now. Not too much $ being made for 6.5 except to keep it running like it used to. Chances are some of these parts will probably will outlast the truck.
