All eight gp's are wired in parallel, both banks coming together at the load terminal of the controller for a total load of ~50amps - in colder climes the controller will call for additional afterglow as engine block, heads, pistons, fuel slowly drag up to operating temperature - that 50a load is quite a drain on the various (+) and (-) wired connections - depending on where EGT guage power and ground is tapped, the needle can reflect those afterglow load surges - in my truck, the afterglow surges can be observed on the Battery guage in the instrument panel
