Pole Barn Garage

Been hard at it trenching and re-grading due to the codes property boundary offset. Got the trench all done last night. Will be grading excess topsoil over it (with geo) outside of the gravel areas due to all the extra spoils

So crazy how the camera doesnt do this hill justice. Its a serious slope down to the barn pad, almost retaining wall worthy, but I dont want to deal with those things ever again. My mower can handle it.

Some more final touch ups of the side swale and the transition from slope to added driveway area will happen tomorrow. Going to borrow my dads 755 and tiller to breakup the topsoil for re spreading around the parking area and over the gravel french drain.

Grabbed dads JD 755 and tiller. Started spreading some of the good topsoil from the spoils piles, tilling, picking the big rocks, and hauling over. Friggen dry dust bowl right now after a week with no rain. Cant get a happy medium.

Got the last of the geotextile over top of the french drain. Started dumping some dirt on top to be bladed out. Need another few rounds of tilling and rock picking to get enough for good coverage.

Next load of driveway stone just showed up.

We also signed the paperwork for the HELOC today. I got shorted on my funds with some nuisance requirements they put on me. Of course these didnt come out till just this past week, and we are so far into the process i really dont want to start over. In short, not happy with the outcome. Should be enough for a barn and slab. The rest I will have to use savings and be frugal.

I met with the elected contractor and discussed a lot of the details. Tentative construction in early to mid July. Confirmed we are going 12' wide on the lean-to now. We are going to have poles in the ground, just cant get away from it for under $8k adder. They will be using glulam poles. We will be putting Tyvek on the sides and Tyvek or Bubble Wrap on the ceiling.

I feel better with my grade work and french drain. That should keep a majority of the moisture and air from the poles.
