I’ve got a 1998 Chevy 3500 6.5. I’ve got the P0380 code, glow plug /heater circuit A. I’ve replaced glow plugs, glow plug wires, two new batteries
, brand new starter, glow plug relay, as well as cleaned and checked the grounds but the code still doesn’t go away. Just cleared the codes started it once and code comes right back on. I still think it’s a ground issue since I put on my emergency lights and press the brakes and the emergency lights don’t blink until I let go of the brake. Out of ideas.

There is a glow plug fuse in the underhood fuse panel that is inline with the glow plug harness and the ECM for the WTS light. I bet its blown.

Yes, he said it starts and code comes back.

after you check pcm fuses- you could remove all 8 plugs, rest the threads on the engine with wires connected and turn on key for glow plug cycle. Watch that all 8 glow. If some dont, swap the not working plug with a working plug to make sure new plugs are good. Then you could identify IF individual glow plug wires that are bad.

if you find one or two wires are bad- it is important to know these are NOT NORMAL wiring. If you decide to replace the harness of all 8 wires speak up- there is a guy that makes top quality ones better than factory we can point you to.

Let us know what you find and we can point you where to go next.

He said he replaced the GPs and GPs cable already.

That is why I confirm that the truck still starting.

I know you probably telling him to confirm if the new parts (GPs and GPs cable/connectors) are good?

He did NOT mentioned that he replaced the GPs controller/relay (the same part)?
