Well i thought id go ahead and change my oil today and forgot to take my sample for the blackstone labs.You think it would be ok to just fish some out of the drain pan or is it too late.also i was able to keep the oil filter full of the old oil,can i use it for the sample

Probably not a great idea, it won't representative. Unless it was a brand new pan. Generally the only time filter samples are used is after catastrophic failure. The results will be inconclusive IMHO.
