In Arizona, buying another diesel Suburban
This C clip is often re used, and it popped off and allowed the oil to spew out from my 94 Suburban. This happened 3.5 years ago just after returning from a 4400 mile trip from Phoenix via Florida. Anyhow, 3.5 years later, the engine is finally being changed, and I just need the C Clips, or do I have to buy upgrade fittings from SS Diesel for $40?

STAFF EDIT: removed link to non site supporting vendor.

I'm selling this rig as soon as it's done, so no interest to spend any extra cash.

I upgraded my lines with the Lube Specialist kit, so I can't comment directly on the c-clip. But, if it was me, I would probably just call a local dealer to see if they have it?

the only reason to use OEM IMO is for the tight contoured fit to every component and it sits in all the plastic holders, sucks up tight to the core support, etc.

I got a Leroydiesel kit back a few years back and I havent had a lick of trouble with it. It could fit a little tighter to the body, But I think since I bought mine Leroy has added more fittings for a closer fit.

I need another kit when I can afford one, but the motor its going on is a little sick to begin with (I think 1 scored bore) so in the meantime if I trash it, it wont be a huge loss. (its not like I cant scrounge up a spare engine! :D)

I did buy some new OEM lines for the 99 chevy a while back, and I am not gonna risk it, new fittings and clips have been purchased as well.

its whatever you want to do, but to do the OEM system right, it will cost alot more than Leroy's kit. the only reason I bought OEM for my 99 is because I hit e-bay and found genuine GM for a fraction of new, and with new fittings, came in 20 or 30 bucks cheaper than Leroy, and I will likely have to re-do it down the road when it starts leaking, whereas as long as I keep it up out of the way from road trash, Leroys kit should last damn near forever.

why are you selling the burb?

I believe I have both on my locked up 6.5. If you want them pm me an address and I will throw them in an envelope tomorrow free. I was taking block to the scrap yard later in week. 99% sure they are still there.

I'm selling the Burb 'cause I bot it to drive across country and then re-sell to pay for the trip. I've done the same thing 4 times, and this was trip #2. sold 1st burb, a black '91 gas 4x4 1/2 ton, #2 is this one, #3 is Mrs's DD, a '95 6.5TD 4x4 3/4 ton, #4 was just back in November, so it will be for sale v soon... It's a red '94 3/4t 4x4

You really need to make sure that the clip is installed properly.

Most people cannot install that thing properly somehow.

Otherwise, you don't have a running suburban to sell anymore.

The simple steel clip holds the oil cooler line.

If not installed properly, it can possibly slip when driving and loosen the cooler line > drain all the oil very fast > running engine without oil can ruin an engine by the time you realize all the oil is gone usually too late.

Search is your friend. It happened to a few people, mostly come here for help and never come back.

Does not want to be pessimistic but like I said, make sure that simple steel clip needs to be installed properly and not a lot of people pay attention because it is a SIMPLE STEEL CLIP.

How difficult can it be to install it? LOL!!!
