Whether permanently mounted or portable, truck or ATV.....Doghouse Diesel is now offering the full line of products from Warn Industries.

If you don't see it on the site, just ask, we have it available.

We are also offering Superwinch and Mile Marker winches and accessories too.

Now remember, you may only need a winch for 1% of the time and for that 1% it's a life saver, but the other 99% of the time it REALLY makes your buddies jealous.

Due to the weight of our diesel trucks, do you recommend the Warn 16.5ti Thermometric Self Recovery Winch at minumum?

I had a Warn on my mud truck back in the 80s, and always tried to get as close to 2x the weight of the truck as I could when sizing the winch. A snatch block can double your pulling power, so perhaps a smaller capacity winch can work in some situations.

I've had the 9.5ti Multi Mount for a few years now and it hasn't let me down. It's been plenty to get me unstuck in most cases. I've had the use the snatch block on a few occassions to double it up, but it's never had a problem.

Now, what is usually recommended is a winch that is rated AT LEAST 1.5 times the weight of your truck for a single line pull and if I was using, say for example on truck the runs power lines, railroad tracks, construction, etc., then I'd want an M15000 or the 16.5ti.

So with my truck at 7280 lbs, obviously my 9.5 is a little small, but having it portable was a bigger concern as I use it on multiple trucks.

Here was my 9.5ti on my '04 Super Duty. It never had a problem getting this thing out.

Here is what I mainly use it for now. Works awesome for cutting logs and dragging them up to the truck as a whole and then cutting them there.
