Howdy - name is Forest (really-it is) and I just sold my 2001 D2500 5.9L (and paid off that huge debt) and bought a 96 K2500 6.5L and thought I'd join this site so I could gain some wisdom from the experts on here.

As far as pulling is involved...I am 24 and in my 8 yrs of legal driving I pull a tandem axle (5ton) dump trailer, with wood sides, filled with chopped wood, tandem axle stock trailer filled with furniture, 18' & 21' carhaulers with my 78 cj5 on it, a 6x10 box trailer filled with furniture and misc crap, and a 21' tandem axle box trailer for an office move.

All of this has been done with the 24 vlv. The only thing I've pulled with the K2500 so far is the 21' tandem car hauler with my jeep on it - and since my brake controller doesn't work, I learned REAL quick how to engine brake, and I've also hauled the smaller box trailer. Boy do I love a manual transmission!! (I miss the cummins - but that is the ONLY thing I miss of the dodge!!)

Thanks!! I actually joined because I was reading up on the fuel pump. I replaced my stock 24vlv pump with a FASS fuel system and would like to go aftermarket this go around too. Also interested in the braided cooler lines, and wondering about HD bushing replacements through-out the truck. (everything as I can afford it, of course). Hopefully between here and "The Diesel Place" I can get some good information!!

Thanks everyone...apparently for some reason I stopped getting email notices that people were still posting, haha. I don't suppose anyone is near the griffith/merrillville, IN area. I suppose there is probably a forum for that, haha. Thanks for the welcome!
