Right now I have 295/75 16's on my 16x10 rock crawlers. Even as bald as they are they rub my brand new front bumper and new front fenders. I have already nipped the bumper, and "clearanced" the fenders, but I don't want to go any more. So, what I thought was to keep the 295's in the back and go with 285/75 16's in the front to clear.
Will this throw off my gearing enough to effect anything, or do you guys have any better solutions?

Don't do that. Stay with one size. You won't even be able to rotate them correctly if you go that route. Gearing will also be an issue in 4x4.

As for the bumper...I had a '96 with a 3" body lift and 33x12.5" tires. I would only rub on the bottom corner of the bumper with a hard bounce offroad with the tires turned. Also rubbed the back corner of the metal fender...but once that was bent back it wasn't a problem and rarely happened anyways.

I also cut the bottom of my front bumper with a nice curve cut. That solved my bumper rub issues. If you already did that I'd say crank the torsion bars up more. If you don't want to do that, get 285's all around or do more cutting.

Is your 3" lift a body lift or cranked tb's with blocks in the rear? My '96 1500 had a 3" body lift and I cleared the 33's fine.

After looking at your pictures..it looks like a 3" bl to me. You're probably having more problems because the older 2500's stuck the front tires out further.

Try cranking the torsion bars or trimming a little more.

Yeah, I had 15x10's...I think it's the front ends on the 2500's...it pushes the tires out just a little bit more and that might be why. Maybe my torsion bars were cranked more...I have no idea. I never adjusted them on that truck because I didn't have to.

What do you plan on doing? Have you ever cranked the bars?

The bars are cranked about half the way and they still rub on hard turns, I am seeing if there are any other options before I crank them the rest of the way and make the damn thing ride like dump truck.

I actually have mine cranked all the way up with new shocks that are 2" longer in the front...it actually rides pretty good still. No one has ever said it rides rough and I have no complaints either.
