Hi all, I have a work in progress 98 6.5 Dually I have had several 6.5s and a Duramax I do most of the work on them myself I enjoy making things work that doesn't

Welcome to TheTruckStop. A forum that is run by diesel enthusiasts for diesel enthusiasts! And the best 6.2/6.5 forum on the internet today! ;)

So Mechanic, I see you are a mechanic for Rusty Wallace Racing... Do you travel to the tracks with the team every weekend or do you stay back at the shop? What area of the car do you specialize on?

I don't travel any more, Just stay back at the shop, We are a small 2 car team so you have to be Flexible on what you do on the car, But the main things I do are Wiring and Plumbing, I build the Dashboards and wire harnesses plus Build the brake lines and assemble them on the car along with the rest of the interior There is just me and 1 other mechanic plus a suspension guy, and we build all the cars with a little help from the road guys, The hours arnt too bad The pay is great it sure beats my last Career (underground Construction) in Michigan for 30 years

RDM glad to see another 6.5 aficionado on-board welcome to TTS, pretty good mix of talent this little family of ours here at TTS, while GM is the "meat & taters" here,

We try to help on them all, example I'm getting ready to pull the head on the wife's TDI VW Beetle tomorrow, I suspect timing belt jump which is bad "ju-ju" for a TDI gotta put the timing mark tools on it to know for sure.

Hey, RaceDayMechanic, welcome to TheTruckStop - from one of the Canadian 6.5 guys!

As you've probably already discovered, this site has the best bunch of 6.5 afficionados around - the members here are great guys, and there is a lot of 6.5 expertise here. We're sure pleased to have you join us!

Dig around, see what people have been up to, and join in contributing to the 6.5 Technical Library, where we put our collective knowledge as it unfolds... this is where we help each other!

Jim

PS - Nice dually!
