Well my name is brant and i just picked up a 1990 gmc 2500 with the 6.2, the truck only has 117,000 miles and has been repainted and rhino lined. I will have a ton of questions, since this is my first diesel but i already know i will never own another gas truck since i have drove this. I guess ill post a pic of her

Thanks for all the welcomes, fuel heater started leaking today and the dealership is the only place that had one so to get me by till next week i just cleaned it up with brake clean and siliconed the crap out of it.

The leak in the Fuel heater isn't uncommon, but it's an easy fix. Good looking truck you got there!

thank you, i just check and the silicone didnt stop the leak, will it catch fire dripping till i get it fixed next week?
 
It *might* catch fire... probably isn't all that likely, but I sure don't like to see diesel dripping around an engine. There is opportunity for electrical to set it off, and hot metal surfaces that will make it smoke a bunch.

At the very least, it's messy as all get out and depending on how much leaks, you'll have to deal with that later.
 
Well, I have had a fuel leak that didn't catch fire. But it is your decision. There is a drain at the back of the valley that dumps it on the bell housing.
 
its seeping to almost a drip, not spraying everywhere. I just need to make it to work and back for the week before i have money to get it fixed.
