hey guys, my gasket that seals the turbo to the exhaust manifold is blown out and im having trouble locating a replacement, any ideas?

no gasket, but if you want piece of mind use a thin coat of permatex ultra black on the flanges before bolting them together

really? i thought it was like a copper gasket, ive seen em in injector instalation kits, last time i had mine off we used a random gasket that fit it well, but a nut backed off and its leaking out the front corner

No gasket. If your turbo band clamp is in good shape try removing it and re-tightening it.

GM had a great idea making a SS clamp with a non SS bolt... mine was so rusted I had to cut it off and replace the turbo band clamp which is around 40 bux.

From the GM EPC, I don't see a gasket. :nonod:

There is one, I've got one I didn't use since I'm ATT equipped when I did my injector change last week, p/n on it is 3709861, also you may need turbo drain line gasket 3937706. see if you can find locally, if not PM me.

not sure those p/ns are stamped into the parts I have in front of me so I'll hazard a guess they are GM p/ns possibly a Dipaco or Delphi p/n as well, they came in the same packet as my injector return lines came in

I googled it, someone said that it is a Holset number. (Dodge forum) That explains why I can't find it in GM's EPC...:mad2:

The oriniginal didn't have a gasket, so I didn't treat my ATT to anything special like a gasket. But, I wouldn't be afraid of using a little anti-seize across the mounting face. Take a look at the surface condition and flatness, if it makes you nervous, you might be ok with a gasket. I'm of the opinion that more parts is not always a good idea. And with that advice and 80 cents you might be able to buy a cup of coffee, lol.

It's a standard T3 sized flange, so if you want to run a gasket, get something like this:

If the surfaces are adequately flat/straight/smooth, a gasket isn't absolutely necessary. FWIW - the stainless gaskets like in the link above are a reliable turbine inlet gasket. When combined w/ good sealing surfaces, they seal exceptionally well & have the structural integrity to not blow out.

If getting a T3 sized gasket, you need to make certain it's for an open (not divided) style inlet.

I put some muffler repair goop down like you would RTV on my turbo because it was starting to leak there. This was in a new manifold, $99 ebay, though.

Your problem is likely a warped manifold if it will not seal without a gasket. As above a cheap part to buy new.

I didnt have one before and dont now, but maybe Ill throw one on next weekend when Im changing out downpipe and muffler. Trying to quiet it down a bit, and could be noise from there.
