Welcome
@emmaleo depending on what your wanting in a computer, what all your wanting to do with it, I would suggest getting something used of of market place as a start. buying new is really expensive right now with the market on memory and storage. there are really decent complete pc's in the used market that can be upgraded down the road.
second hand gaming PC's with an Intel 10th to 12th gen and a 30 series nvida GPU aren't that high priced used. I myself daily drive a 12th gen intel 12700kf with an AMD 6750xt GPU and use Linux on it (Kubuntu). I despise Microslop windows!!
I bout it about 2 years ago new from the Houston TX Mircocenter as a prebuilt PC. cost me $1700 with a 34" wide curved monitor. I don't game but wanted something that would possibly outlast me as my old PC was already going on 10+ years old. I was running an old intel i7-2600 and a GTX 760 GPU. it still to this day does everything I need but I couldn't watch youtube videos in 4k LOL
If you want new and want to get the best bang for yout buck, look at prebuilt PC's. I wouldn't get one from the jungle site (Amazon) simply because of the warranty and support. Microcenter usually will give the best deals and they stand behind their prebuilds because they build them in house. If you want to look at the specs on what I got for that price, mine is a Powerspec G442. they don't come with a monitor, but throw in an extra couple hundred and get you a curved wide screen and you will be happy.
It was an adventure for me getting mine simply because where I live, the nearest Microcenter is about 200 miles away! don't be afraid to drive a distance to get something with good warranty and support. Even places like Best Buy won't stand behind stuff. most of those places are just like wall-mart, they sell it to you and get you out the door and when there is an issue, your stuck dealing with the manufacture over the phone with no place to go stand in front of a real person with real knowledge on these issues. Even calling the manufactures nowadays you just never know who and where from that you are talking to, a lot of times you end up talking with someone in another country where you can barley understand what they are saying!
