Who rebuilds and modifies these pumps?

I have contacted unique diesel (John) and Conestoga (moose pumps) and am waiting for replies.

I will not use accurate since my last 2 injector sets have been pretty worthless.

This will be going in my new to me 93 while it's apart. Going to do studs top and bottom as well as ATT.

Thanks

If you are overhauling it get some Total Seal Gapless rings in it. You won't believe it is a 6.5 diesel anymore at 3K on the oil as you can still see the marks through the oil. I have like zero blowby on the 1993 now with like 20K on them. They are made to order so figure a couple weeks to get them.

Definitely on my list for a full tear down but I'm not sure if I want to worry about it since my compression is almost 400 across the board (lowest 365 high 390) most were near the high side and the low one has an odd ball injector and a reused seal so I'm optimistic that it is higher than expected.

I have 2 engines that need a rebuild in my shop but one needs a crank and the other needs sleeved and possibly a crank.

thanks for the tip WW

You are there. You might as well clean up the cylinders to break the glaze and put new rings in it. If not gapless do just a normal ring set. Will keep the intake boots, CDR, and turbo cleaner with less blowby and oil mist.

Got good compression, but, the 2nd ring did not fully seat in one rebuilt engine I got surplus. I had to overhaul it when it ate a worm clamp. I got a good look at the rings. The bottom of the ring still had the break in coating while the top was worn in. Possible it was installed upside down or they never gave it enough throttle to seat it. We tried to seat it for sure, but, may have been too late. So the two I have now one smokes the dipstick and the other has more or less no visible blowby at all.

Tanner, John did mine and some others here, I am pleased with the work done on my pump, If you need it, I have his phone ##......

i use a guy out of wisconson his company is called badger diesel he rebuilds lots of pumps im not sure what he will do as far as tunning it up but after i got my 4911 back i turned the fuel screw almost all the way and the thing ran awsome till them damn kids wrecked it for me

Thanks Josh, I forgot about badger. I will send them an email and see who offers the best bang for the buck. I'm honestly banking on John since he has upgraded internals on his Badder Pump but I want a cc comparison and some warranty (or someone with good stand up customer service).

Mel at Conestoga builds guaranteed +90cc pumps for 7.3s weekly and has a good reputation there. I've seen a couple trucks by John run and have been impressed thus far I just want a cc guarantee.

Sctrailrider, if you can pm me his # I'll give him a call after the holidays.

iv got his bussiness card right here and he is always more than willing to talk on the phone ill pm you the number if you want. i really like the guy. he did my 5521 pump for the 00 and the day it was supposed to ship i called at like 7 am left a message asking if he could throw in a return line kit. never heard back from him but it was in the box when i got it.

Thanks Josh. I'm still shopping so I'd like to get as much info as I can from each shop to see what is the most cost effective power adder, best internals, customer service, and warranty.

I'm sure they all have good products but it can't hurt to make a well informed decision.

Sctrailrider and josh: Can to send me the #'s for badger and unique diesel please.

Are there any forum members that rebuild injectors as a hobby?

im not sure about that but the guy at badger does them and he told me he dosent really make any money on them just sort of does it as a service for the customers that are getting pumps. the number is 2625584553
