The amp selector switch on my 225A AC/DC welder has always been tough to turn but now it's almost impossible. I haven't taken it apart yet. Has anybody else seen this with the Lincoln red coffin?
That is the same problem I had on my 300 amp airco. There were 2 bolts on either side of the rheostat that controlled the tension. I am guessing the Lincoln will have something similar.
Only on the Airco I stripped out the Acme thread adjuster
Mike, it's been a long time since I've used one of those. Take it apart and spray some WD-40 or something similar, you might even be able to spray it from the front. Blow some compressed air through the vents once a month to keep dust out.
Thanks guys, I'll check it out. I keep a cover over it and it's still like new even though I've had it over 15 years. For all I know the damn switch could have a mouse home in it. I've found them in other wierd places.
