Hey guys, I was watchin some tractor pulls yesterday at the fair and There was only 2 Jd in this particular class, a model 70 diesel and 730 gas. I noticed they both seemed to have the same engine setup just one had plugs and wires. Is there anywhere on the interwebs where I can research this. I would love to learn something about the engines on those tractors.

Both have large (321CID) 2 cylinder engines. The diesels actually have a small gas engine on them that is just for starting. You start the gas, let it run for a bit, then pull a lever and it turns the diesel over. I would say just do a google search. My dad owns a 1953 Model 70 gas that's been in the family since the early 60's.

ytmag.com my friend. the old guys on that forum will be able to answer any and all questions about the old deere two-lungers.
