I'm gonna have to nurse this one until I can save up for some transmission viagra. Or maybe I can get a transmission fluffer? Notice that I have used the word transmission not tranny. It just doesn't sound right saying that my tranny went limp.

I was reading on some transmission rebuild parts, and on the transgo one of the things it eliminates is going to neutral under high load. That is what has happened both times. The first time I had tried a new tune where I pretty much copied off of one I found at the other place, but changed a few things. That tune doesn't even seem as aggressive as the one I'm running, and it was only supposed to be 100 hp. It had some pretty heavy spikes in some of the fuel tables that I thought I had smoothed out, but there was one I missed which probably caused it. That tune did pull real good for the 7 miles I ran it.

The second time was with my current tune that I have run with no problems. I had punched it going about 65 on the highway to blow smoke in some guys window that was pissing me off. It shifted down, then kinda hung on the upshift a little bit. Right after it did shift it went to neutral, this time it stayed in neutral longer. Probably because I was going faster.

edit: This is the description of the rebuild kit I'm thinking about getting. I didn't want to post the link in case of vendor conflict.

#1000SRK. With this kit you get everything needed to upgrade your transmission to handle 600 horse power and 1000 foot pounds of torque. You get the #A1000 billet torque converter with the oversize clutch, the #1000 Transgo Shift Kit with all of its upgrades, the deep cast aluminum pan that holds 3 1/4 extra quarts of fluid and our Alto Master Rebuild Kit with Red Eagle clutches and steels in all 5 clutch sets plus both internal and external filters. The freight is included in the price (UPS GROUND IN THE 48 STATES). $2099.00

I am very sorry to hear about your drive member's unexpected dysfunction. :(

I can only imagine how disconcerting it would be to desire some strong performance at a moment's notice, only to find that it's unable to get up and go. Hopefully you will soon be able to obtain the necessary corrective surgery so that it will again perform to your utmost satisfaction.

Your drive member's soon to be acquired ability to easily take care of 600 horses should be a very titillating experience for you. :)

that is good, but what do you plan on doing with the truck? and what is that converter, single disc, triple disc? and what is contained in the alto kit? i am asking because for a few hundred bucks more you can get a s/c 3 kit and it will hold anything you can throw at it proven time and time again by members here and elsewhere. the 1000 ft/lbs is not that high and not that far off once your trans is done:D especially if you already have efi. just dont want you to be disappointed once you turn the power up like we all do.

I will be home in 5 more days I will stay home for 14 days and then come on back to the desert for 3 months then go home again around thanksgiving.
Ok, so you get 2 weeks R&R, and then come home thanksgiving? When my cousin was in Iraq he got 2 weeks R&R over X-mas, which was nice. Well, thanks for your service and come home safe both times

can't you just duct tape a couple of popsickle sticks to it for the time being, that should keep it up

That one was just a thought. I have been keeping the s/c in mind. I'll probably get a few sensible choices, and then set out to find out everything I can about all of them. I def want to get the best value. I just keep finding stuff that money needs to be spent on! Not just the truck. I need to get a heavier cash flow. I want to install it myself, I think that kind off stuff is pretty neat. I'll have to get a book I guess. That's the part I'm looking forward to.

yeah get in touch with ridge runner diesel he is a member here and had a s/c 3 from the early days running efi tunes and no2. he did this for many a mile and lots of drag passes. thing lasted until he decided to do a refresh on it to find almost nothing wrong with it. just an fyi:D. but i completely here ya on the cash flow, your not alone.
