Anyone ever hear of this? And will it work for the 6.5? I'm looking to upgrade my phone and someone brought this to my attention. Iphone & Android have an adapter that plugs into the OBDII post, and there is a program that can be downloaded to read everything that the vehicle is doing.

I looked into getting a scangauge a while back for my 96 6.5 - but it didn't seem like the best investment at the time. If this is legit and and works, than I'd be more interested. Please let me know if any of you have this and if it works well with our systems. Thanks!

Louis, are you kidding? I'm a BB diehard, but they have the worst app support for anything not related to business functionality. I love my torch, but having the ability to not have to pack one more tool around, seriously worth considering if you were at the end of your contract looking to get a new phone. All of those links look like those apps are very interesting and very useful.

iphone here too.......I almost went with the simplest flip phone they make, but then I got this as a christmas present. After having one, I would never have another phone. The blackberry I had was great, as mentioned above, for business related tasks. But the iphone is alot more simple to use and offers more apps.

Anyways, as for using it as an obd scanner....I would do a litttle research online before buying anything. I had looked into a few before, but by the time you bought the cable and then the program, i could have bought two scanguage units. Now if you are planning on using this for multiple vehicles, then maybe it is worth it. Id just do alot of research on the specific programs first. Reviews show alot of these are not all they are cracked up to be.

I've got dashcommand in the 98.

Works great.

You just need the right PID to build your own dash.

As to iphione, I don't know. My dashcomand is PC. But, now I'm off to the itunes store to see if fdashcommand is available for my iphone 4! ;)

If the iphone version allows you to build your own dash, you have the PID's and a bluetooth OBDII adapter there's no reason why it shouldn't work just as well as the PC version.

I know lots of guys who have been using a blutooth OBDII adapter for years now on both PC and PAlm devices. No issues.

They even plug them into rental cars when they get them just for the heck of it...

That's all these are, is a bluetooth adapter. Android you can D/L the Torque app and it will be a scanguage. If I didn't have an aeroforce in my Bonneville, I'd probably have bought one of these. I don't know if it can read Knock Retard on gas motors tho.

There is an application for Edge chips on IPhones that interfaces with the truck wirelessly. One of my friends is gonna try it on his 04 Dodge. Thats a newer truck thing though.
