Last night was turbo night, and it went off without a hitch. Having an assistant who is mechanically inclined helps tremendously, too. I did it at my cousin's house while people were partying and still finished in 4 hours including stopping to gab, make cocktails, etc. I didn't take the fender well out, it seemed like more hassle than it was worth, and was never really in the way. You could definitely do the install in less than 2 hours if you don't screw around and have a good assistant. I emailed the instructions to my cousin early in the day, so we had both read them before we started. This was nice because we were able to work right through different steps at the same time, since we both knew what needed to be done.

Now for the important part- IT RUNS AWESOME!!! The truck is way peppier, is faster, and sounds great! I still have my muffler on my turbo, and the ATT is quite a bit louder than the stock one. I can't wait to get the muffler removed, I just didn't have a hose clamp to secure the plug last night. Now, if I can just find someone with a scanner to adjust my TDCO, I'll be stoked! Anyone near Havasu, or Lakewood,CA??

I'll post my mileage figures next week after I drive home. I know what I should get for mileage on that drive, so it's an easy and consistent comparison (if I can keep my foot out of it). Hopefully I can get my fifth wheel hooked up for a tow test, but that'll have to happen in a couple of weeks, I have a busy week ahead.

Congrats...you're gonna love this turbo! Now you're cooking with a ATT!

Quit giving Slim sticky shorts already!

Actually, I just thought about this... I wonder how many potential sales Slim has lost due to the fact that he has the exact word SHADY in his handle....??

Could be worse... he might have the handle GMDieseltech - then he would get NO sales!

Sticky shorts , Actually Slim Shady was a nickname for a singer Eminem, Marshal Mathers, who grew up on the east side of Detroit. His music was all about how things are here. It was just a handle at the time. Everyone should know there is nothing SHADY about me. Check it out

....Slim Shady was a nickname for a singer Eminem.....there is nothing SHADY about me.

I've had the ATT on my future shopping list for a while now. I wasn't worried about the name "Shady", but the fact that you actually listen to Eminem might be a problem. ):h):D

BTW, the Spell Check just tried to change "Eminem" to "ermine".....Even my computer thinks he's a weasel. ):h

Come on, I love Eminem! Show some love. :)

All this time I thought it was M&M's.... lol... Sorry to start this off-topic tangent....

ATT is of course a winnner, thus the reason we can joke a bit with Slim about it.... wait a minute, Dennis, if you aren't Shady, are you at least SLIM????

I do look really forward to my ATT purchase whcih will ahve to wait to next summer... oh well... with 40-50 ATT's running around and a few hundred thousand miles of testing....

I would get one sooner, but my wife and KId want to eat, and apparently want a place (nice) to live too... Wife think's I'm made of money, and the kid thinks I bleed diesel.... If for this ONE time they could be be right, we'd all be happy.

:iagree:
I am with you Matt. After reading all the threads about them i have wanted one. But after Fri nite's short ride to the Denny's in Doc's truck it is amazing the difference between my GM-4 and the A Team's. It is on my christmas, birthday, wish whatever list. Gotta have the A team..

Used to listen to some of his songs, the slim shady one just kind of stuck in my head. Marshall Mathers grew up in the Detroit area: things here can get dicey, when you get in the wrong places, have to be quick on your feet and stay focused to get through some things.

I got older and wiser and try and avoid confrontations now. if I cant avoid the situation at all costs, and they can't or don't understand the Colt 45 acp surrender flag. Then they deserve to hear the business end of my baby.

Now that the turbo has been on a few days, I have a question. What is this little brass thing, and why is oil leaking out of it?

Mine is oil-soaked right there too, but I'm pretty sure it's coming from my EGR or CDR or whatever the heck that thing is called. I noticed that little ball when I was wiping the oil off today.

The copper thing is a rivet where I could of had a name plate. If the rivet is loose the compressor cover can come off and the rivet can be peened from the back side, I have peened all of the rivets, but if they just leak a little take some silicone and dab it over the rivet, that should take care of the oil leak. The oil you see is from the CDR tube / crankcase gasses being compressed in the compressor housing. This is not a big deal, and a little silicone should stop the weeping. This will not affect the turbos operation, and will not harm the turbo or the engine.
