I need a emergency brake light switch for the 1994 K3500.

For a while the brake light would go out if you reset the emergency brake and rereleased it. Lately the brake light has not gone off at all>

Where is the switch on the emergency braKE?

Does anybody have a part number?

Not sure how to test it, it is just a piece of copper that a part of the pedal touches and sends a ground signal..... I just unplugged mine when it broke and the light went out..

all the switch does is ground the wire. same method as the dome light/door switch. disconnect the wire, if the light goes off you probably chasing a switch. do a continuity test to confirm. the other possibility is the wire itself is grounded(rubbed though). then you left chasing it though.

Thanks. At least I know what I'm looking at. Since it hAS a manual transmission the brake gets used a lot. And since my wife and daughter drive it, I like all the little lights to worh properly.

napa part # ech pb4008 for the switch

I hosed down everything with Amsoil MP lubricant. Now the dimmer switch seems to be working and the brake light now goes off when the pedal is pulled up. There seems to be a little slack - as though the pedal is not being pulled up hard enough when you hit the release.
