i need to replace my thermostats. now some parts stores say i can put in gas thermostats. some say you need the special thermostats. the prices are from 7.00 to 45.00. now do i need the crown style or can i use the gas motor ones? the ones i took out are 330-180. the book says they are from a gas motor. i checked on stat.and duralast and ac delco. the ac delco are the 45.00 dollar ones. the duralasts are the proper ones they are 15.00 from autozone. thank you much for your intrest.

Get the 195 degree AC-Delcos if you want trouble free operation. 12T92E

Was it $45 a piece, or do you mean for the set?
Here are two sources.

Thanks for the link, Ya just cost me 57.00 for two t-stats and since they have free shipping on orders over 50.00 I had to get two new fuel filters..... lol. Ed

If you want good and cheap, try Kennedy Diesel. He sells Robert Shaw t-stat. Make sure you buy the correct one.
