I found this truck but i need mega help

You can't get hurt too bad at that price. You could part it out and get more than your money back. My suggestion would be to do some reading in the technical reference library to familiarize yourself with the quirks of the 6.5 diesel. There should be a diagnostic checklist in there. Copy and paste it too this thread and answer as many of the questions as possible. If there is something you don't understand ,ask.It will give us a idea where to start looking. There are many reasons why they won't start. We like to start with the free stuff first.

Give it a squirt of Marvel Mystery oil or diesel in the intake. If it acts like it wants to start that might tell you something.

Do not use starter fluid on the truck.

I'd start with checking the oil and coolant. How full are they? what condition do they look to be in?
Get an oil analysis done? Might tell you some things you want to know. This could be a good idea regardless.

Looks like a major POS to me.

But worth the money for just the block, if it's in good rebuild shape.

Offer him 400 bucks and work from there....tell him it's going to cost you a hundred bucks just to tow it out of there.

I'd bet on the PMD if it's still mounted on the pump...

Theres a bunch of easy to moderate fixes that could get that running. Starting with check the ECM fuse and F/Sol fuse under the steering column, could be that simple. Simple enough to swap a PMD, or remove the plunger from the fuel shutoff solenoid, or unplug optical sensor on Injection Pump (IP). Then if none of that probably would just need an IP which would cost about same as you bought the truck for.

Free stuff: clean ALL grounds. There should be 3 at the rear of the intake manifold/back of heads. These are the grounds for the computer, interior, a/c,body and frame.
As said, check All fuses.
Check that all wiring connectors are plugged in or connected. Check the connectors for bent or pushed out connector pins.
Take a injector line loose while cranking to see if there is fuel at the injectors.
When turning the key on is there 2 clicks coming from the engine? one from the front center[fuel shut off solenoid on inj. pump], and from glow plug controller[dr. side rear of engine].
Is there 12 volts at the glow plugs?
Is there fuel pressure ,while cranking,to the "tee" valve at the thermostat cover?
Is there fuel pressure ,while cranking, at the fuel filter bleeder?
Condeming a pmd or injection pump without doing these tests is a crap shoot.
