Hi all,

we're willing to build a bench test for our engines once rebuilt.

To do so, we will use a DB2, a 4911. We have a very few to none documentation on the DB2.

Any DB2 guru can tell us how to wire the pump to make it running?

We have 3 prongs on it, what are they for? Cold advance, fuel shut off solenoid? # 3 is for cruise control isn't it?

Thanks for your help.

#1 cold advance
#2 fuel shut off solenoid
#3 high idle solenoid

Further, the cold adv and high idle solenoid are powered at the same time when your coolant temp switch in the t-stat crossover sees coolant temps below 100*F plus or minus a few.

Basically all three are powered up, engine starts and warms, switch breaks circuit, 1&3 power down. Engine idles against the curb idle screw setting.

Of course pull the power to #2 to shut down the engine.

Correct on wires.
I thought it was 140 F as it would not kick cold advance here in the summers...

Somebody just posted the military manual a few days ago, it has complete db2 rebuild in it. I suck at finding the old post, so my printer made some noise, and my newest 3ring binder says look at section 2-32. I'll try to find it but others are probably faster than I am.

Thanks for all replies guys

One last question: to "pre-time" the IP, I bet we have to do the same than with a DS4, which is to align this embossment (hilighted with the red line)
DB2 timing.jpg
with the one on the timing belt housing (front cover), where the IP bolts?

if you look close you can just see the mark under the edge of the black circle. That's the timing mark. with the advent of the ds4 the corresponding mark on the timing cover went away, if so you'll just have to set it by ear.
