How to swap in a vortec 350 with a carb into a '90 k1500?

I hope this is the right section for this, if not please move.

The current motor in my '90 K1500 has a knock in the lower RPMs.

I would like to replace the motor with a newer vortec style 350 motor but at the same time I would like to convert the vortec 350 to a 4 barrel carb.

What's all involved with this swap conversion? What will I need besides the motor and carb?

Thanks

My first thought is "why switch to carb when you have TBI?"

I know that's not what your post was about, though, so I'll start with something different. You can use the older style block and buy the Vortec heads. Jim Pace Performance sells an aluminum intake manifold for this conversion, to keep the TBI and can take advantage of the superior Vortec heads. The heads were cheaper to buy new than the old heads were to rebuild. Again, I realize this isn't what you asked, but it is something to consider and might give you some more options.
