My jimmy I think has a bad head gasket so I may need to drive my truck this winter. I was wondering how much fluid the transmission holds? Id like to change the fluid and filter before I drive it.

How much fluid does the 4L80 hold?

Total fill is 14qts. Tough to say how much you will really get out, doubtful that you'll get it all.

Normal is 4-6 quarts for a pan drop and filter change.

14qts includes the torque converter, you will get about 4-8qts from the pan/cooler (which is all that dumps unless you flush it.)
