Almost 8 years ago I pulled up to a guys house, took one look at his truck and swore I wasn't leaving until it was mine. Made the deal right there. Not sorry one bit!
 
First, and most likely only, truck I bought new. Wasn't directly off the lot as they didn't have what I wanted so they swapped rigs with another dealership in eastern Montana. I had my list of required features and I wasn't going to budge. Don't think they liked me too much, they really wanted me to buy one of the dozen or so Dmax clones they had on the lot. No variety whatsoever except color.
 
I found my truck on craigslist while I was in Germany. My Brother went and got it for me. It has been a great truck so far! :thumbsup:
 
I found mine on E-Bay, as per my sig block. It didn't sell at auction so I contacted the guys who listed it and made an offer. I was so ignorant of trucks that I didn't know the difference between 1500-3500 trucks was not in the over all size, rather capacity and didn't want a "bigger" truck. I also wanted a diesel and was discouraged I couldn't find one in a "small" truck (1500) size. That was 2007...Ahh the lessons I've learned.
My 15 year old son and I flew out from NC to Spokane WA to pick it up and drive it home. 2.5 weeks of cruising in a "new to us" truck and no real issues other than needing a new stereo and speakers. Why so long? Because we could. Plus, it was a great way to re-bond with my son.
 
Fresh off the lot a day after they got it and 1 day into a 4 day, 0%-72 month, buy off the lot deal. Happy as hell with it still today. Less than a year to pay.
 
95 Gasser from an old farmer when I was 16
95 6.5 from a dealer in Minnesota for dirt cheap, flew to get it
94 6.5 was ordered from a dealer by my dad, been in the family since
93 6.5 private party from a guy in Alabama, flew to get it
80's model truck all came out of a deal made on 1 truck I parted out. Basically parted out a 99 3500HD and got 3 trucks back!

Both of mine were found on craigslist.

My truck was local spotted it went & looked at it made a cash offer & went back that night drive it home left the next morning with it for a 1200 mile trip, had a few issues but it's been a great truck.

My Tahoe was also found on CL but after a flight up to Minneapolis to purchase a Burb that I backed out of...that's another story that I had a post here about. Barry helped me a hole bunch with the Tahoe as I doubt it would have been rode worthy for the 600 mile trip home without his help. Thanks again Barry :tiphat
 
I ordered it through my local GMC dealer. It took 8 weeks to get it.

99: Ritchie Bros auction, SLC utah, 1,650 bucks, drove it home, best bang for the buck ever
96: Ebay, was horribly mislead, truck was opposite of what seller said, 2325 bucks, ran for 30K, down till engine swap
95: Scott auction, Garden City KS, 1600 bucks, no info, never started, turned out fair, trans is shot, strongest running 6.5L in the fleet, but it has a bad hole with blowby
95 chevy back row dealer special, 750 bucks. bought with known bad motor, driven without antifreeze
94 Burb. craigslist, super clean and straight, 1100 bucks with PYOs, shot motor, unknown trans
91 GMC auction, grinnel KS, old farmer, super clean, low miles, etc. 1,850 bucks
91 chevy auction, benkelman NE, 1900 bucks, first truck ever owned, bought with a summers worth of combine driving money. love it, even with JD dealer stripes

96, neighbors son lost the trans on interstate, goodwrench motor, transplant for 96 GMC, 750 bucks
95 chevy, auction, runs excellent, new batterys, good tires, no blowby, bought for 800 bucks and drove it home
91 GMC private treaty, with alot of crap 2 motors, 650 bucks, a ton or so of crap at going scrap price.
