HID's are plug and play. Sometimes the kits wires need to be reversed because the polarity is opposite overseas.
I'm running HID in a pure white 4300K (some websites call them 5000k) in my low, high and fog lights.
If I could recommend anything, it would be not to put them in your high beams, solely based on how often you actually use them. Plus, your flash to pass will now be pointless since it takes HID about a full minute to reach operating temp with full illumination.
Do your low beams and fogs and be done with it.
There are many good kits and your price can range from $50 to $500, depending on quality. I got mine for around a hundred bucks a set two years ago. We do have vendors here who sell HID kits if you're interested. McCulloch HID conversion kits are pretty much top of the line but also expensive.
