Names Mark figured its about time I introduced myself.I have been on this site for awhile gleaning information for my new to me 98 1500 4WD gmc.I would post a picture but dont know how yet, also new to computers.Anyway I am building this truck to pull a small 21.5 ft 5th wheel for retirement purposes and to date have a heath towing tune 4"exhaust,new cooling system, pmd mounted in bumper, new 1200 cca batteries and upgraded cables mounted in truck bed with 35 gallon aux fuel tank.Truck has 270,000 kilometers and runs very well.I have one concern it has 3.42 gears and the trailer weighs about 6000 lbs fully stocked water etc.In the opinion of more knowledgeable folks than I will this be a problem oh and I do have boost and pyrometer hooked up.Thanks in advance for any and all advice.

Welcome to The Truck Stop Mark! Plenty of good guys and 1 gal that can answer about anything you ask about the old 6.2/6.5s

Welcome. I've no idea on tow capacity for a 1500, but someone here will know it.
For the pics, easist for me is with my phone.
Sounds like you have a great start with your truck.

7200# gross iirc. Means you can get bout 1-1.2k pin weight in the bed max. W/ trailer brakes you will stop OK, the 3.42's will put you perfect for cruising in 3rd w/ converter locked up at 60mph

Hi fellas
Thanks for the welcome and information.Looks like I will be okay as far as weight goes,on the trailer that is.As far as pictures from my phone goes it is still attached to the wall, never did invest in cell phone. Maybe I will get my kids to show me how to get a picture on here.Burning oil I have enjoyed your products, the quality and installation information have been very good:).I want to see how well the GM8 does pulling,if it cant handle the mountains I may have to up grade.
