Help dip stick broke off! chevy 350

Here's the deal i just got a 1975 chevy 3/4 ton 4x4 its got a (built 350 not sure what all done to it for sure)

But i was looking it over good and went pull the dip stick out and the dip stick tub came out to the tip of it that go's down in to the block has broking off and the owner did not tell me this they put some stuff around it to hold it in place... I can not get the pice of tub out to replace it... Theres nothing to get ahold to pull it out... Any one have any tricks or tips to get it out?

Take a TAP that just threads in to the broken tube and then use a pair of vise grips to pull the piece out.

Pull off the oil pan and tap it out from underneath. They usually stick down into the pan a bit.

X3 but I'd try Mick's idea with a tap 1st or an EZ out before pulling the pan.
