Location
In Arizona, buying another diesel Suburban
So I decided to change the tranny oil on Mrs '95 Sub., and I thot I had a filter, but it was for a 700R4, so called FLAP accross town, and $14 from Taiwan w gasket, but the auto part around the corner is alot closer, so they sell Hastings, Made In USA, but it lists for $44, and I paid $33. I went to Amazon and the same Hastings is $27 w free SH, so not a biggy. But why is a simple filter so pricey?

You're FAR better off with a name brand filter. Trans pan drop to drain is always a sloppy mess but worth the time.

You get what you pay for. You said it yourself, Taiwen filter $14, so really, do you know how good it will filter your oil or even stay together if the fluid gets superheated?
