Ok, some history of the truck. bought the truck 3 weeks ago, it has been sitting for 7 years. It has a reman 6.2. I put new batteries in and it fired up on the second glow plug cycle and ran great. I drove it over to a fuel station and put in a double dose of power service in with a full tank. When I got home I found that the fuel tank was leaking fuel, rusted threw "ARGGGGGG I am the pirate of this ship, thou shall not leak arggg arggg arggg".
So I drained out that tank and removed it, then put the fuel into the other tank, low and behold it leaked tooo AAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGG. Removed that tank and bought one from a junk yard. finally I can keep fuel in the truck as long as the engine doesn't burn it.
Drove the truck for a couple of days then it died and wouldn't restart, that turned out to be a clogged "BOX" style pos fuel filter. Replaced the whole filter system as listed on a previous post. Now it has the wont shut of right away problem. It always starts fine in the morning and when hot and has good power with very little, I mean verry little black smoke if you rod the living crap out of it, sure sounds good with dual 2" straight pipe crack--crack--crack.
