Well guys, got a great deal on a FASS pump on craigslist the other day. It's a FASS HPFP 95gph unit. $150 for it and i know it'll outlast and outflow the stock units. Got it installed today though and i must say, the truck doesnt fall on its face anymore above 2700 rpms. i'll keep you guys updated on how she runs but so far so good

It's set from the factory at 12-14 psi. im gonna double check that when i get to work tomorrow to be sure though. its off of the vp44 equipped cummins and they have the same issues as our truck if LP pressure is above 15 psi(blown front seals on IP)

Its one of those things people dont necessarily believe, until enough people say how well the added fuel pressure helps maintain power. GM and Stanadyne show in training materials that the IP should have 9psi inlet pressure. Well, the filter and filter housing cause a drop in pressure, like 30% drop, so you need 12-14psi just to put the fuel pressure at the inlet that the technical data for the DS4 says.

Just the swap I was wanting to hear about. My neighbor is taking his FASS off tuesday from a VP44 IP cummins. His FASS developed an irradic pressure problem saturday so if they are rebuildable he will throw in a kit and the pump for cheap. Not sure if it is worth it now that it has problems though.

They are a pretty simple pump. If its just the pump system you just take the four jambnuts loose and seperate thehousings. theres an o-ring in there and he gerator gears. They are much louder pumps than our factory one but once you turn up the radio and or floor the pedal you dont hear it anymore

Are there rebuild kits out there for these? I dont care about noise. Mud tires, straight pipe, 2 10in subs w/ 600w amp, and a diesel engine isn't quiet anyways.

i believe you can get the rebuild kits straight from FASS if need be. I will find out and let you guys know for sure b/c i have to call to try to get a new stud that mounts the pump and base together(kinda broke one but it isnt leaking)

Talked to my friend and he said the motors are suspect to going out, his pump is a 95gph with an updated 150hd model pump. He also thinks the water seperator might be full and causing havoc, he just wanted an excuse to bite the bullet on a 150 Air Dog so he didn't diagnose it.

ill try to get some once it dries up outside, been raining since yesterday, worst case the pics will wait til i get my exhaust finished and get a bunch of pics
