Good work is expensive

Oh, and by the way, a good CO should know the difference in somebody screwing-up, and somebody taking ownership of the screw-up by looking for a little assistance with a well thought and realistic get-well plan.

If the CO treats each individual the same, then consider choosing future PCS rotations under different leadership.

If the CO treats the individuals accordingly, then consider future PCS rotations with this leadership as there is good learning and growth potential.

Point is, everybody makes mistakes in life and it is highly likely that the CO has already seen the results of this a time or ten. But, the CO should also recognize the difference in individuals whom simply leave the flaming-bag-o-poo from those whom want to do the right thing but were caught off-guard.
