Fuel leakage problem

I have a nasty fuel leak at the filter on my truck. It is the model 80 filter setup. I took the filter off of the mounting plate and it looks like all the grommets on the back are in good condition. The hold down clips also seem to be doing their job. I just can't seem to get it to stop leaking. I made sure both valves are tight and all my connections are good but it looks as if it is leaking from behind the filter. I was thinking about swapping the whole shebang for the newer setup from the next generation truck. I was told that the newer filter system lacks an integrated fuel heater and I shouldn't do it. Any thoughts? This really makes it a pain to start as air is let into the system after sitting for a while.
