I've had my truck 7 months now, and I'm still at 100% filter life. It was new when I bought the truck, but since then I've gone through winter and I've also done the DIY inj. cleaning.

Does this mean I'm just getting great quality fuel?

Just wondering if this is normal for a d-max. Thanks guys!

No, it's not normal. There must be something wrong with the DIC or something. It should have gone down to about 50% or a little bit less than that by now. Depending on mileage on the filter, I would change it at least once per year. If you're anal about your filters, twice per year, but it really is dependent on mileage. Anything more than that, you are just wasting your money and time.

I recall 10-15K fuel filter life on my 2008. I think it changed with the amount of fuel burned, but, I am guessing. I usually changed it with the oil around 10K miles as it would be close and the truck would be gone for awhile on the road.

Factory preset on fuel filter monitor is 15k. It's just a monitor based on miles, not any other inputs.
I think there's a problem with your DIC Gerald.

The fuel filter life monitor works off of milage I believe on the earlier ones, but the later ones also factor in how much current it sends to the FCA and will turn on the change fuel filter message if it cannot hold rail pressure.

Hmm. Everything seems normal on the DIC. Hmm. I'll change the filter in fall and cut it open for a look see. For now, the truck runs strong except for the little surge I have going on and a rattle on the drivers side front. I got to pull the wheel off one day and check the caliper situation out.
I'm still impressed with the performance of this truck compared to my old 6.5. A 7000lb truck should not have this much power LOL.

Thanks for the reply guys!
